Historic Partnership Between the Greek Federation of Mixed Martial Arts and Sorbonne Paris Nord - IdEF

The Greek Federation of Mixed Martial Arts (GRMMAF) is proud to announce a strategic partnership that marks one of the most significant milestones in the history of Greek MMA.

Following a successful meeting between GRMMAF President Mr. Athanasios Barkas and Mr. Stelios Amargianakis, General Director of the French College IdEF, a formal collaboration has been established with IdEF, which operates in partnership with the prestigious French public university, Sorbonne Paris Nord.

For the first time, the Greek MMA community will have direct access to a comprehensive university academic pathway, seamlessly connecting athletic experience with scientific knowledge and higher education.

Key Highlights of the Partnership:

• First-Ever University MMA Specialization: The establishment of the first university specialization in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) within the Sport Sciences degree programme at Sorbonne Paris Nord.
• Direct Admission Pathway: Holders of the Category C Coaching Diploma from the General Secretariat of Sports (Greece) are eligible for direct entry into the second year of study, subject to programme requirements.
• Flexible STAPS University Studies: Access to STAPS programmes (Licence 1, Licence 2, Licence 3, and Master 1) with options for both on-campus and distance learning.
• Hellenic Olympic Academy Cooperation: Ensuring members of the Greek MMA community receive the exact same educational opportunities available to other officially recognized sports federations in Greece.
• 50% Tuition Fee Reduction: A massive 50% discount on tuition fees throughout the entire duration of the study programme for GRMMAF athletes, coaches, and federation officials who enroll through the Federation.

• Online Informational Meeting (Zoom): Monday, 6 July 2026, at 16:00 (EEST). This session will cover admission requirements, exclusive benefits, and complete partnership details. Zoom access credentials will be sent automatically via email to registered participants.
